Dr. Shasa Hu strongly believes that true transformation is achieved through teaching patients and consumers the science behind skin health. Dr. Shasa Hu is an Associate Professor and Director of the Cosmetic Division at Dr. Philip Frost Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She is a scientist, clinician, and educator. She infuses her passion for teaching into her research and clinical practice on skin cancer surveillance and cosmetic dermatology. She is known for providing a holistic transformation for her patients by combining office-based procedures and lifestyle, nutrition, and skin care recommendations.
Dr. Hu earned her undergraduate degree at Stanford University and her medical degree with Alpha Omega Alpha award from Washington University School of Medicine. She completed her dermatology residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Hu and her team published several landmark studies that raised awareness of delayed melanoma diagnosis among Hispanics and skin of color. She has received awards and grants from the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and the Dermatology Foundation.
