Gut Health & Microbiome Panel - 1.0 CME Credits
Day Two: Saturday, October 28, 2023
| 11:00 AM - 11:45 AM PDT:
This panel will explore several cases where the role of gut testing and management will be considered. The practical use of gut microbiome testing will be discussed in the context of clinical case discussions. The role of short chain fatty acids will be explored in relation to inflammatory skin diseases.
Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will examine the utility of functional testing of the gut, including gut microbiome testing in the context of dermatology cases.
2. Participants will apply gut health management as part of an integrative approach to managing dermatological conditions.
3. Participants will evaluate the clinical evidence for the use of nutrition and dietary supplements to support gut health and production of short chain fatty acids.Panelists

SIBO And Rosacea
Day Two: Saturday, October 1, 2022 | 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM
Increasing evidence suggests that the gut-skin axis is implicated in the pathogenesis of rosacea. Sufficient data exists to support the concept that the gut microbiome plays a role in the inflammatory cutaneous response and there appears to be associations with small intestinal bacterial overgrowth and Helicobacter pylori infection. A dysbiotic microbiome and an innate immune system dysregulation contribute to the pathophysiology of rosacea. Greater understanding of this connection between the gut-skin axis could allow for more efficacious and timely treatment.Speaker
