I was born and raised in Miami, Florida. I completed my undergraduate studies at Florida International University, graduating with honors. I received a master’s degree and a PhD in cell biology and cancer research at Albany Medical College. After receiving my PhD, I completed my medical school training at Albany Medical College. I then attended Roger Williams Medical Center/Boston University, Dermatology Residency Training Program where I was awarded chief resident.
My research has led to the filing and acceptance of a US patent for a small molecule inhibitor for abnormal scar formation. I have published extensively in top rated dermatology medical journals and have won numerous awards for my research in dermatology. I have been the principal investigator for numerous independent research studies as well as industry-sponsored research studies.
I am double board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and The American Board of Obesity Medicine.
I am the founder of The Skin Inflammation and Obesity Medicine Clinic in 2024. This clinic is located outside of Boston. It is the first combined clinic of its kind in Massachusetts. In this clinic, the patients get a more integrative approach to their care.
I am member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Obesity Medicine Association, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and the Massachusetts Dermatology Society, and Rhode Island Dermatology Society.
I am married and have 3 children. When I am not working, you will see me enjoying time with my family and friends. I love live music and go to as many concerts as possible!
